How We Help You

Strategic Approach

I believe in individualized justice. Prosecutors tend to “pigeonhole” people into generalized categories and then treat all those unique individuals as if they were the same. This attitude results in people being herded through the criminal justice system like cattle. I always make sure that a prosecutor and (more importantly) the assigned judge knows my client’s: name; face; and distinct backstory.

Criminal charges always engender fear of the unknown. Loss of liberty, loss of family, and loss of income are the most common reasons individuals are apprehensive about the criminal courts, but they are by no means the only types of fear caused by an arrest. I want my clients to understand the realistic parameters of any potential loss. Once properly understood, we then focus our collective energy on mitigating those losses and navigating the future.

My goal is to provide each client with peace of mind during a difficult time, making sure that every person I represent is well informed about the legal challenges that he or she may face.

How Can I Help You

Over the past thirty-five years, I have worked diligently to obtain expertise in a wide range of criminal offenses such as; murder; domestic violence; molestation; drug offenses; early termination of probation; and the sealing of prior convictions.

Before becoming a defense attorney, my background as a police officer and law-student prosecutor gave me invaluable insight into the “behind the scenes” workings of both the adult and juvenile justice systems. This “behind the scenes” understanding has been significantly expanded over the past three decades as I have served as a pro-tem judge in three different court systems:  the Maricopa County Justice Court; the Maricopa County Juvenile Court; and the tribal court of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

Whether you are facing serious felony charges, or have been arrested for a first-time misdemeanor offense, individualized justice and professional care are the essence of my legal representation.
